QA Lead – SharePoint project

Current timeline for MS Tools delivery requires additional QA staff for augmenting internal capabilities to meet delivery dates specifically as a Project QA Lead. Under project direction, a contractor in this role establishes and provides quality assurance plans, processes, and procedures for the MS Tools SharePoint project. Contractor will work with all areas of IT and lines of business to ensure the quality and integrity of all technological components through testing and quality assurance processes and procedures.
Description of Work to Be Performed and the Specific Skill Sets Needed:
Roles and Responsibilities
· Lead all QA testing resources on the MS SharePoint project
· Assess and size QA project scope
· Provide direction and support to testing resources
· Report QA project status to project stakeholders as needed
· Create Project QA Plan
· Follow Program QA framework established by Program QA Coordinator
· Estimate resource needs relative to scope
· Assess and adjust resource capacities and capabilities throughout the project
· Assess capabilities and constraints to meeting project delivery
· Identify risks to QA processes and plans
· Establish the project issue management process and manages it in cooperation with project management
· Assure test team follows QA practices and processes throughout the project
· Assure project QA deliverables are complete and retained
· Troubleshoot and resolve testing issues
· Review requirements for completeness, testability and adherence to standards
· Review and recommend manual testing processes
Skill Sets Needed
· Experience as Test Lead on high profile, cross enterprise projects (preferably Microsoft technologies)
· Experience assessing and sizing QA project scope
· Experience working in an environment without industry standard requirement/test management tools
· Experience validating data migration
· Experience validating website content conversions to SharePoint templates
· Solid understanding of software development life cycle
· Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with IT and business units
· Able to work independently and as a member of a team
· Proactive in work assignments, identifying potential risks to minimize impact to deadlines
· Demonstrated troubleshooting and risk analysis in previous work assignment
· Proven experience in a lead role that balances cross organizational needs supporting a high profile project
· Familiarity with needs and complexities of stress and load performance testing
List of Deliverables, e.g. what the consultant(s) will be expected to accomplish:
· Deliver a Project QA Plan for the MS SharePoint project
· Provide input to the overall project management plan including but not limited to schedules, resources, environment/data requirements and QA processes
· Establish a project issue management process and manage it in cooperation with project management
· Deliver a test case management tool for all tests within the project
· Deliver test progress/status reporting to the project team from the test case management tool
· Retain all QA documentation created/utilized in the project in identified network folder
Impact/Outcome from a Business Perspective:
The Microsoft Tools project will be validated to meet QA exit criteria and business line acceptance of the tool delivered.
