Sr. Software Developer (PHP)
Position Type: Contract
Location: Austin, TX-Texas (Onsite)
Major Responsibilities:
• Full stack PHP Development building Applications, Modules and Plugins for the Moodle 2.x LMS
• Building data integrations against back-end REST web services and objects.
• Building new solutions, refactoring existing solutions for scale and building integration capability with new educational content platform
• Localize and internationalize apps for markets outside of the US.
• Provide front end designs that meet all Section 508 accessibility requirements
• Collaborate with user experience experts to design user interaction models, workflows and user interfaces.
• Development and support of integration plugins written in Java
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• 5+ years of software development.
• 3+ years building and deploying, in a commercial PHP production environment, complex applications.
• 3+ years of Javascript (NodeJS experience a plus)
• Experience in PHP and HTML security, encryption and data protection APIs.
• Experience in deploying multi-tier PHP applications and MySQL data systems.
• Experience with MySQL, XML, JSON and Web Services.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related engineering degree.
• Experience working with a team in an Agile Software Development environment.
