Role : Oracle DBA
Location: Charlotte, NC
Duration: 12 Months
Interview Process: They do 2 Phone Screens with team. May do a 3rd depending on team's schedule. (No face to face required)
Database Administration on 11g, RAC, Dataguard & RMAN. Minimal requirements: Oracle DBA with minimum 8+ years, Experienced in Oracle 11g RAC, excellent experience in Performance tuning and Dataguard.
Candidate should have strong hands on experience in Performance Tuning and RAC systems for Production environment.
As a senior DBA, the candidate will Consult with and provide guidance to database users and client groups, often recommending tactical and strategic solutions.
Performs moderately complex server-class database activities across various platforms and environments including one or more of the following: business requirement identification and analysis; conceptual, logical, and/or physical database design; data modeling and/or mapping; moderate to complex programming and coding to automate and/or support the database environment; performance monitoring and tuning; analyzing database metrics and assisting with capacity planning; planning, testing, configuration and execution of installations, upgrades and migrations; and implementing security controls. Leads, mentors and/or provides guidance to less experienced database analysts, where applicable, including guidance for troubleshooting escalated issues. May participate in the development of data/ database architectures and management policies, procedures and standards; May lead moderately complex projects. •
6+ years as an Oracle DBA, not a database developer, this is a Core DBA, not an Apps DBA position. • Configure, administer and manage Oracle 11g databases. • Strong experience in configuring and maintaining Oracle RAC 11gR2. • Experience installing and configuring Oracle ASM. • Install Oracle Data Guard, working knowledge of Shareplex is a plus. • Strong skill-set in monitoring and analyzing RDBMS for performance, and performance tuning. • Perform database Backups and Recovery. Extensive knowledge of Oracle RMAN backup and Recovery is required. • Working knowledge of Solaris and Linux Operating systems. • Moderate UNIX shell scripting is required, experience in Perl programming is a plus but not required. • Provide in-depth consulting services in the identifying and resolving database issues in a timely and professional manner. • Provide support to development team on infrastructure and DBA Support. • Design and recommend archival and purging strategy with partition tables. • Experience with large databases (multi terabytes) • Analyzing data access patterns and suggesting solutions (partitioning, indexes, query optimization etc.) • Experience with high throughput, low latency database systems • Work with application development team for proactive monitoring for identifying SQL tuning candidates. • Have good experience in building new systems from scratch and be able to identify and ask questions to help setup new systems. • Participate in On-call rotation every few weeks. • Candidate should be able to multitask and work in time efficient manner. • Candidate should be have excellent verbal and written communication skill, documentation and accurate handoff of issues when working on long issues and transitioning to the next shift is required. • Candidate should have excellent Follow-through and must be able to pay attention to details . • Hands-on experience is more critical than design skills and/or certifications.
