Title: Sr. Software Developer
Duration: 12+ months Contract to hire
Location: Houston, TX (CityWest then possible to Northbelt)

Position Overview:
This role will be focused on architecting and possibly prototyping software that will be consumed later by another delivery team. The right candidate must be able to work in an ambiguous development atmosphere and able to transition easily between projects (and potentially technologies/platforms) without additional supervision nor assistance. The best candidate will have come from C++ into C# and will be able to develop software conceptually and physically from end to end.
Solid development process skills (requirements, definitions, writing design specifications, programming, unit testing, integration testing, etc.). Solid understanding of the tools, methodologies, technologies, and language features. Ability to develop software designs and project schedules. Able to follow development and development testing standards.

7-10 years of software development experience (prefer both C++ and C#)
Solid understanding of the software development process
BigData DBs (i.e. Hadoop)
WPF (Binding, Triggers, XAML, Templates), SOAP
ASP.NET Web Development, XML, XSLT, TSQL, OData, Entity FW
MS Visual Studio, MS TFS
Exposure to N-Tier application architecture; Solid Object Oriented Design, Design Patterns; SOA
Experience working on performance-sensitive applications, optimizing application's performance (working with profilers), memory management; Multi-Threading
Good understanding of application security concepts (WS-Security standard)
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, or similar discipline
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Self-starter, team player (taking direction from SW Architect, collaborating with internal and external team members)
Strong verbal and written communication skills (being able to create design documentation, presentations, provide consulting and training for other developers on delivered product)
Preferred
Experience with implementations
Rabbit MQ (or other messaging/communication technologies)
Knowledge of multi-platform OS (Linux/Unix/Windows)
