Position :  Sr Java Developer

Location :  Chicago, IL

Duration :  9+ months

EAD, GC or Citizen

 

We need help with this contract to hire position in Chicago for a backend Java developer with Spring, XML, Cloud computing and Messaging (MQ or RabbitMQ or ActiveMQ or AMQP).  Candidate must be eligible to work for any employer and open to a perm conversion.  Client does not guarantee a perm conversion but they want that option.

 

Client can also decide over the phone and/or Skype but the candidate must be able to relocate to Chicago at his/her own cost.

Requirements:

·         Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Management Information Systems

·         5+ years of engineering experience

·         Apache Camel Experience

·         AMQP messaging experience (RabbitMQ, etc)

·         Working in a Cloud environment

·         Continuous Integration experience (Electric Commander, Jenkins, etc)

·         Proficient in Java / J2EE Development, Spring, XML

·         Knowledge of Perl, Python or other scripting languages

·         Experience designing Java applications that interact with databases in a scalable way

·         Experience with MySQL, postgress or Oracle

·         Automated Unit Testing using JUnit or similar tools

·         Proficient with Unix/Linux

·         Proficient in a Configuration Management tool (e.g., Subversion or CVS)

·         Knowledge of agile development techniques such as TDD, Pair Programming, Refactoring, Continuous Integration

Remarks:  Client can decide over the phone and/or Skype but candidate must relocate to Chicago at his/her own cost.

 

Our awesome world leading Chicago client is looking for a Sr. Engineer responsible for participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle in an Agile/Lean environment. Using current programming languages and technologies to write code and perform testing and debugging of applications. Interact with product management and users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications and assist with systems integration. The successful candidate will have the ability to work in a highly collaborative manner.

Responsibilities:

·         Collaborates with Product Management and development team to ensure user stories are created and estimated

·         Requirements definition and analysis; unit testing of developed code

·         Investigation and root cause analysis of software and system defects

·         Publish release packages and records

·         Deploy the development artifacts to a staging area for release to production
