Required:
Position Overview

•       Candidate will work on an assignment within Property and Casualty UW Strategic Program.

•       This position requires interaction with other developers, support teams, business analysts and business users.

 

Responsibilities:

•       Work with project team to design, develop and implement high performance web based applications

•       Work with business analysts to develop technical design specifications

•       Assist in maintaining and enhancing existing web application functionality and designs

•       Provide subject matter expertise, training, and guidance to other staff members

•       Closely follow software development life cycle methodology

•       Follow change management processes to promote code

•       Create system technical documentation and design diagrams

 

Required Skills / Abilities:

•       Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must

•       Hands on experience with: ASP.NET 2.0-4.0 C#, JavaScript, AJAX, DHTML, XML/SOAP, ADO.NET and WebForms, Custom Controls, User Controls, Distributed System Development

•       Strong understanding of HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, FTP protocols

•       Strong practical knowledge using design patterns in .NET

•       Familiarity with data modeling and development methodologies

•       Knowledge and understanding of relational databases

•       Knowledge of SQL programming, stored procedures and functions

•       Knowledge and experience creating transactional Web Front-Ends utilizing data from MS SQL Server, Oracle or UDB

•       Knowledge of IIS 6.0 and 7 web server architecture

•       Good conceptual knowledge of application security design methodology including single sign-on

•       Experience in rapid prototyping

•       Solid understanding of testing methods; unit and integration testing

•       Proficiency in MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and MS Visio

 

Working Knowledge of Insurance Business is a plus

 

Education Bachelor Degree or Higher
