Provide input to the UC project plan for creating time lines of projects, complete application coding for medium to complex changes within the OJI application, recommend best practices, and provide support to system testing, user acceptance testing, and production when needed. Design, develop and test application modifications and enhancements to online screens using Java code, Java script, WAS workspace, RAD and DB2 database. This would include building on the current application interfaces for the OJI system as well as conforming to the industry best practices and standards. The work will include providing ongoing support for enhancements and modifications to the OJI online application that will ensure satisfactory performance of the application based on customer satisfaction and conformance to business requirements.
This particular work activity is incorporating the IBM rules Engine into the OJI system. This initial problem is to provide business user flexibility in analyzing and confirming worksearch data collected from claimants each week. The quantity of the data and free flowing text input makes confirmation a challenge. We are looking to attach a Rule Engine to allow analysis and perhaps eventual incorporation of a final algorithm into OJI mainline business logic. This is an initial use for a Rules Engine to allow the business user and the IT team to begin to understand the technology. Potential future applications are expected.
The duties performed will be a high level and eventually a detailed plan for incorporating the IBM Rules Engine into the OJI system for the initial application. This will include understanding the current architectural direction from JFS Enterprise Architecture team as well as working with the customer to introduce the technology helping the wider OJI team (OJI and customer) to understand the best current practices for Rule Engine solutions.
The initial deliverables will be flushing out the problem, statement and proposing the solution choices with rough cost estimates. The final deliverables will address the chosen solution at a greater level of detail. Upon receipt of final deliverable, JFS will add state development resources to these contract resources to do the development of the solution. The contract resources will own the integrity of the final solution and help the state staff to come up to speed on the technology.
Special Requirements: standard work day will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm unless prior approval by manager. May be required to work non-standard business hours such as after 5:00 pm Mon-Fri. Some work may be required on Sat and/or Sun for some projects. May be on call 24x7. Project deadlines are to be met and unit manager must be notified before 50% of project completion is deadline is in jeopardy. Maximum of 3 weeks vacation can be taken during contract engagement, with at least one month notice.
