Job Desc:

 

 

Windows System Engineer:

• Windows Platform Engineering experience with a technical understanding of windows infrastructure, including WINS, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory (AD), LDAP.

• Networking: A basic understanding of TCP/IP networking (IP (TCP / UDP), protocols)

• Experience installing, and configuring Windows Server 2003,  2008 and/or 2012

• Hardware Platform experience: Understanding differences between blade technologies and stand-alone rack-mount servers.  Understanding IBM BladeCenter H and H series blades or HP C7000 Chassis and BL Blades is a plus.

• Understanding server remote administration: Out of Band Management basics. Understanding of HP iLO, IBM IMM/AMM, IPMI and/or SNMP is a plus.

• Understanding Server OS and Middleware Provisioning to bare-metal or VM via network provisioning solution or scripted build process.  Experience delivering OS and middleware to the Windows platform using technologies such as BMC BladeLogic / BMC Server Automation, or an equivalent product (e.g. Tivoli, Big Fix, and/or HP Operations Orchestration) and a desire to learn BMC Server Automation is a plus.

• A technical understanding of PXE (handshake), TFTP, and windows install capable bootloader (RIS, WDS, WinPE) for provisioning window server builds in an automated manner

• Self-motivated: Must possess the ability for quick and self-initiated learning of new technologies and demonstrated ability to solve tough problems (to be utilized for automation of windows server builds)

• Scripting and/or programming: PowerShell, VBScript, Windows Command Scripting (or Batch Scripting). 

• Windows Architecture: Understanding the difference between Windows x64 and x86 Architecture and being able to determine that difference
