Location: Maclean, VA
Duration :- 12+ Months

This position will be for a long-term project managing several environments running RHEL6 and RHEL5 servers. Candidates should be comfortable working on a set of tasks independently. Candidates should be comfortable maintaining Linux servers that run: Web logic, Oracle DB, Apache and Tibco BW. Candidates should be capable of deploying servers from a baseline image/configuration and customized them for their specific role within the environment. Knowledge of apache, web logic, Tibco and oracle installations is a plus. This position requires relocation to Cincinnati, OH.

 

Responsibilities

·        Maintain and support 100+ servers in 2 data centers

·        Act as SME in Storage Administration, Linux Administration and Network Administration for the group

·        Work with Application/Database administrators to improve performance and reliability of environment.

·        Act within a Facilitator role for other projects within the group

·        Perform as a secondary Oracle DBA at times.

·        Deploy new servers from baseline images.

·        Implementation of any hardening scripts and verification of security

·        Installation of application service prerequisites within the environment.

·        Documentation of implementation activities

·        Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and implementation issues as they arise.

 

Required Skills/Knowledge

·        ITIL experience (change controls, incident management, kbdb, etc)

·        Scripting experience in Bash and Python a must

·        General network troubleshooting skills: host, ping, traceroute, etc

·        OS Experience: RHEL5/RHEL6

·        Experience maintaining LVM Logical Volumes

·        Working knowledge of the following protocols: LDAP, HTTP, SSL, DNS, NFS4, FTP, SNMP

·        Apache 2.2 experience

·        Virtualization troubleshooting

·        Server Hardening

·        Patch management (Satellite/Cobbler/Katello)

·        Ability to work independently without major supervision.

·        Experience managing and configuring backup systems.

·        GlusterFS or HekaFS

 

Preferred Skills/Knowledge

·        Experience creating custom graphs with Cacti.

·        DM-Multipath experience

·        Strong network troubleshooting skills (tcpdump/wireshark analysis)

·        Detailed, network-level knowledge of the following protocols: KRB, LDAP, HTTP, DNS

·        Oracle 11g, Apache 2.4 and JBoss 9, Weblogic 10 experience

·        Experience maintaining continuous integration servers (Jenkins/Hudson)

·        Previous work experience with Puppet or Chef in a plus

·        Experience with DS-User from Asigra

·        Experience managing an AD-based linux environment.

 

Other considerations

·        Should be willing to work in a rotating shifts

Should be willing to work on-call when needed
