EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 10+ years IT experience
5-7+ years as a DB and SQL Developer within a software development organization, prior experience as
a data base and or database developer within healthcare and/or military healthcare systems and/or military
systems (preferred), should have performed data analytics on daily basis as a primary role.
5 years in quality assurance and/or data management preferred.
Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills with the demonstrated ability to present findings and
recommendations to business users or leadership – Must provide written samples of project artifacts
and/or oral presentation skills.
Must have a solid understanding of logical database design principles.
Knowledge of data modeling concepts.
Ability to interpret data that is not well defined or documented and develop recommendations based on
findings.
Understand the methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data within and between
technology systems and business functions/operations.
Analytical thinking; accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be a Self-Starter.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
Other related skills and/or abilities may be required to perform this job.
Collaborates with the development team, product and project stake holders to plan and manage the DB
and SQL Development, Data Analysis, Quality activities and deliverables.
Mentors less experienced team members and/or other team members.
Leads discussion with customers and peers to collect and analyze data requirements.
Ability to provide leadership to peers, management and customers in relation to data engineering
principles, technologies, methods and best practices across a broad spectrum of DE disciplines.
Participates in client meetings and presentations and leads the discussion and presentation of data and
information management material.
Proactively supports business or data analysis teams.
Provides advice on complex application data issues.
Participates in project technical reviews.
Leads work product reviews.
Participate in formal Data Model and/or Code Reviews.
Provides advice to business and technical personnel on data principles, methods and trends.
May need to lead complex Model Conversion (data mapping) to produce a data dictionary and data
mapping matrix between the external software and the internal database.
Performs complex database development/coding/testing.
Designs complex Data Transformation Strategies for Data Migration.
Analyze and resolve or recommend solutions to highly complex technical problems such, as
performance issues, reliability issues, and data quality issues.
Elicit review, and validate data requirements, including: Data Integration (ETL, EAI, and web services),
Meta data, Modeling (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical), and Data delivery.
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within tight timelines while being
flexible in adapting to new roles.
