Title: C++ Developer

Location: downtown Chicago

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:
CME Group is looking for several C++ developers to work on customer-facing risk analysis tools. Successful candidates will work closely with CME Group technology staff and business users to design these tools, must work independently on the implementation, and are expected to thoroughly test and support their work. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively is required.
Essential Roles & Responsibilities:
• Experience in the development of professional-grade, deployable C++ software
• Strong ability to debug software including identification and implementation of performance improvements
• Contributes to the success of the team through collaboration and the ability to adapt to changes
• Tests all code developed, and automates as much testing as possible/practical
• Reviews planned implementations and identifies potential integration or problem areas that need to be monitored and addressed

Required experience and qualifications
• 4+ years experience developing professional-grade software with C++
• Demonstrated expertise in understanding and implementing OO design patterns
• Experience with the C++ Standard Template Library (STL), including data structures
• Experience in Linux/Unix programming, and writing C++ software that can be compiled and executed on both Linux and Windows platforms
• Strong systems analysis and design skills
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Strong documentation and verbal communication skills
• Experience in writing C++ CGI programs or web server modules a plus
• Java development experience a plus; ability to read and understand Java code is required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
