Position : Project Manager , SOA
Location : Bloomfield, CT
Long term : 6 months
Juggle multiple priorities and meet demanding expectations from senior IT leaders and be able to articulate status and issues to the stakeholders in a concise and eloquent manner that enables the leaders make critical project decisions.
• Demonstrate leadership quality and drive issues to resolution without getting caught up in roles and responsibilities.
• The person in this role also will be the primary means of communication within the team and external to the team and will have the responsibility of delivering the message with the appropriate level of severity and at the same time stay engaged with the external partners in order to manage dependencies and make sure that the project can be ultimately delivered.
• This candidate needs to demonstrate the competency of managing client relationship with the business partners so that we meet their expectations and in the process be customer centric.
• Have a solid understanding of the technology landscape for their project and be able to understand the issues and their impacts.
• This candidate will be the single point of contact for the whole project and all escalations will be directed at them that were not resolved within the team. \
• The candidate needs to always think out of the box and look for process improvement and do what they can to implement them so that we are efficient in what we do.
7 to 10 years of IT work experience, including 4 or more years managing projects and requires prior management, supervisory, or team leader experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience
• Extensive experience leading and managing projects in an Agile environment is required
• Background in application development or systems analysis strongly preferred
• Possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of Project Management methodologies and tools. Also understands human resources policies and practices and change management techniques.
• Exemplary Project Management skills including scope management, capacity planning, project scheduling and tracking documents
• Persuasive, collaborative business acumen with the ability to drive the business partners strategically and influence
• Strong Communication skills, Executive presentation skills, and ability to communicate with all levels
• Experience managing IT Integration/Portal Development programs/SOA Oriented projects preferred
• High proficiency with Microsoft Project and Excel
• Experience in managing 20 plus matrixed resources concurrently preferably in a matrix environment
• Strong financial acumen, proven ability track and manage project budgets, track variances and execute clear financial reporting
• Proficiency with Clarity preferred
