The State Accounting Office (SAO) was created via Executive Order in 2004 by the Governor and subsequently adopted by the General Assembly in 2005. SAO provides accounting and financial reporting expertise for the State and is responsible for statewide financial reporting, oversight and management of the State's ERP system, accounting policy, business process improvement recommendations, and management of the SAO Shared Service Center.
SAO is looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to work on testing changes, enhancements and updates to our PeopleSoft Human Capital Management (HCM) and/or Financials applications.
The Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for working with functional and technical staff in planning, executing, and documenting testing and to understand requirements for each project affecting any component of the application. They will need to learn individual components of system to facilitate the development and execution of comprehensive test plans. The Quality Assurance Analyst will need to follow and enhance developed testing processes, procedures and methodologies. Document test cases to meet desired test coverage goals, and be responsible for test automation efforts. They must further work to minimize risk by identifying, communicating and escalating issues appropriately to management.
The selected candidate will have experience in all phases of testing and working with all levels of staff, including initiating and maintaining excellent communication with both functional and technical Development staff.
 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Create and maintain both manual and automated test scenarios and test scripts for Peoplesoft HCM and/or Financials applications
• Execution of both manual and automated test cases
• Complete comprehensive testing for all phases of a PeopleSoft project
• Evaluate test scripts for correctness and comprehensiveness to ensure they meet project requirements
• Analyze test results and report identified problems
• Perform data analysis to aid Technical and Functional Analysts in the execution of PeopleSoft project work
• Review functional requirements to ensure completeness from a testing perspective
• Provide a quick response to all enquiries to enable the resolution of problems, the provision of information and/or referral to appropriate personnel
• Create and maintain the testing methodology and processes
• Recommend improvements to testing process
• Participate in the development of project plans including schedules, milestones and critical paths
• Provide comprehensive reports on the status and progress of testing
• Utilize a software tool to track and manage testing
  
Qualifications
: 
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Five years of related experience OR Associate's/Vocational/ Technical degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Seven years of related experience OR One year of experience at the lower level Systems Analyst 3 (ITP022) or position equivalent. Note: Some positions may substitute experience for education on a year-for-year basis.
 
Preferred Qualifications - External: 
• Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration or related area OR five years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst
• Extensive experience of Functional/Technical testing of PeopleSoft HCM and/or Financials modules
• Good understanding of the integration points between PeopleSoft HCM and PeopleSoft Financials
• Extensive experience and understanding of the different types of testing (System, Integration, Regression and User Acceptance)
• Four (4) or more years of experience in manual and automated testing including writing automated test cases
• Experience and a good understanding of Waterfall and Agile Methodologies and Use Cases
• Excellent communicator both orally and in writing, with strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong listening skills with the ability to work with tight deadlines
• Ability to interact with people of various skill levels and diverse backgrounds
• Experience with the State of Georgia is a plus
