Job Title: DBA experience with DB2/ Linux

Duration: 12 Months

 

SCOPE OF SERVICES:

The consultant will engage in tasks related to migrating the legacy Inmate Phone system to a new modern system. Although the phone system itself has been migrated to a new contractor to manage, other related tasks remain to be worked on. A data feed from the Inmate Banking System will to be designed and transmitted so that a new system would know inmate bank balances available for calls.

·         Provide services on demand to Department of Correction of NYC – Work as Sr. DBA, doing everything from design, tuning and application coding on HP OpenVMS, HP-ACMS/Oracle RDB.

·         Development of enhancements o the phone system telecom applications (AICMS) on Harris (Teltronics) Switches and Windows based VRU servers using Intel/dialogic boards, property management (IPTS) and the IFCOM logistics and financial management application.

·         Programming work and Data Center System Management functions.

·         Write 3GL code in C or COBOL or SQL and DCL procedures as a way to support the programmers.

 

Other general task will include:

·         Managing Oracle RDB database for various applications including the in-house developed

·         Inmate Phone, Inmate Property, and Inmate Financial and Commissary applications.

·         Design, re-design, and implementation of database enhancements.

·         Perform database monitoring and performance tuning.

·         Analyse and make appropriate modifications related to database storage areas, indexes,

·         Record placements, transaction paths, record access strategies, database internal record

·         Fragmentations, database external file fragmentations, physical database area internal usage and free space, fill factors, storage segment and page statistical distributions checks.

·         Develop new documentation; review and update existing documentation.

 

MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

·         DBA experience with DB2/ Linux

·         Application Control Management system (ACMS)

·         OpenVMS clusters

·         Digital Command Language (DCL)

·         CPU-independent SAN technology

·         OpenVMS capacity planning performance management and system utility tools.

DESURABKE SJUKKS.EXPERIENCE: ETL /Data; knowledge of Harris/Teltronics telephone systems, dialogic boards, other related knowledge.
