Description: Client, a government agency, is looking for a .Net Developer in Tallahassee, FL

 

Responsibilities:

•             Perform an in-depth assessment of the existing mainframe data processing and transfers; to understand the underlying design, structure, functionality, and development approach taken by the COBOL and Easytrieve developers that wrote the current mainframe solution;

•             Reverse engineer the current COBOL and Easytrieve applications, and document their processes and functionality, to the level of detail required to code new .NET applications that fully encompass both their processes and functions;

•             Develop functional and non-functional requirements, and present them in a formal Requirements Specification document;

•             Design a secure, efficient and accurate solution, that minimizes human intervention;

•             Develop the .NET code and SQL stored procedures necessary to perform the required processing functions, transfer functions, and reporting functions;

•             Perform Unit, Integration, Quality Assurance and Parallel testing, along with assisting the Business Partner in their User Acceptance Testing;

•             Develop test cases and scripts.

 

Requirements:

•             Experience with developing .NET applications, with at least 2 years working on .NET financial management systems (5+ years);

•             Experience with developing .NET applications using SQL as the back-end repository (3+ years);

•             Hands-on experience in the development of Requirements Specifications documents;

•             Experience with designing and developing reporting systems;

•             Experience with performing Quality Assurance testing of high-visibility .NET applications that maintain financial data;

•             Experience with COBOL and Mainframe environments (Preferred).
