Job Scope & Responsibilities
Development and Implementation of Technical Solutions
·Assists in defining business-aligned specifications for the development of technical solutions
·Works closely with IT colleagues to ensure that application /technology solutions integrate with the business environment
·Participates in researching and evaluating internal technology resources vs. external options, and provides input on technical solution alternatives
·Assists in the review of testing models/designs to ensure sound testing execution
·Works closely with Business Partners to support compliance with audit, applicable regulatory and legal requirements (e.g., Sarbanes-Oxley), Company’s policies and procedures, and standard practices
·May contribute to recommending, designing, and/or developing courseware content for user or operator training programs
·May participate in drafting standard operating manuals, reference guidelines, or system operations documentation for new technology
·Project Management
·Provides input for project planning (i.e., project scope, labor and resource cost estimates) and scheduling
·Responsible for installing and setting up of appropriate technology to meet development project deliverables within time, cost constraints, and quality targets
·Participates in project activities for introducing and implementing technical solutions for users
·Assists in designing appropriate metrics or measures for evaluating technology project’s ROI and direct performance linkage to business results / goals
·Assists with oversight and tracking of milestones and quality of work performed by third-party contractors against defined scope or service level agreements
·Prepares communication reports for project status updates (i.e., comparing actual vs. estimated milestones related to scheduling and budget scope)
·Technology Maintenance and Support
·Provides technical support to client areas and executes routine administrative and operational tasks (e.g., monitors system performance and availability)
·Interprets, evaluates, troubleshoots or debugs simple to moderate client area issues (i.e., functional operation of installed application hardware, software application, or system malfunctions)
·Follows standard operating procedures in execution of work tasks (i.e., conducting system performance monitoring, analysis, tuning, and maintenance studies)
·Analyzes and reviews data for performance analysis and prepares performance documentation
·Assists in the development and implementation of IT value enhancement initiatives (VEI) that generate positive economic benefits
·Investigates security tools or alternatives to minimize enterprise information security risk
·Participates in evaluating existing technology (tools/applications) and provides input to affect more efficient operations
·Assists in identifying opportunities and gaps for business process re-engineering and streamlining and raises these issues with a supervisor
·Actively prepares and/or contributes to required documentation
·Participates in multiple aspects of the SDLC and/or IDL process
Technical Expertise
·Demonstrates thorough knowledge of advanced features of a language / tool (i.e., software tools / network protocol / operating system, etc.) to select appropriate implementation methods and develop / modify the IT system involving multiple platforms
·Demonstrates strong ability to conduct detailed analysis across multiple products available in the market to assess applicability and suitability in ’s IT environment
·Demonstrates strong ability to design and apply systems integration solutions across multiple technical areas / domains within the current IT environment
Technology Procurement
·Demonstrates working knowledge of existing IT vendor selection processes to analyze vendors’ offers against ’s stipulated specifications, terms, and technology needs
·Demonstrates basic knowledge of existing contracts for products and services necessary to monitor contractors’ performance against contractual obligation
·Demonstrates basic skills in contract development and negotiating collaborated agreements needed for minor procurements
Project Management
·Applies working knowledge of resource requirements (i.e., estimation of time, access rights, etc.) to prepare broad plans for small technology projects
·Understands and applies basic knowledge of project implementation, scheduling, or monitoring techniques needed for effective and timely implementation of small technology projects
Daily Functional Activities and Responsibilities
Provide level 3 support for the Service Delivery teams
Collaborate with IT Architecture team on standards
Collaborate and develop SOW designs and solutions
Collaborate on the creation and maintenance of midrange standards including hardware and operating systems, tools and configuration
Collaborate on the creation and maintenance of midrange standard build processes
Maintenance of Midrange Blueprint document
Building of midrange environments including:
·Installation of standard system software
·Standard configuration of hardware
·Installation of standard backup solution
·Installation of standard agents
Commission OS software
Turnover of standard builds to Project Delivery teams for project customizations
Attend PPO meetings
Responsible for creation and closing of CRF for new environments
Evaluate new technologies
Operationalizing of standard midrange processes and transitioning of processes to Service Delivery teams
Review and planning for the installation of patches
Transition patching plans to Service Delivery teams
Maintenance of midrange installation checklist
Support Capital projects
Support on-demand, ready infrastructure
Collaborate on the development and implementation of hardware End Of Life (EOL) strategies
Collaborate on the development and implementation of standard backup solutions
Participate in DR testing
Develop, implement and test quality gates to ensure standard build processes adherence
Development and maintenance of engineering tools
Develop and implement security standards and processes for midrange environments
Collaborate on the development and implementation capacity planning metrics and tools for:
· CPU
· Memory
· DASD
· Throughput
Develop and implement processes for implementation of agent software including ECC and NetIQ
Develop and implement processes for hardware and software licensing
Ensure accuracy of CMDB information
Ensure all environment comply with security standards and policies
Collaborate on the development and implementation midrange virtualization strategy
