NETWORK ENGINEER

Overview

Challenging position in the Network Operations department within the Global Technology Infrastructure organization.  The network engineer will join the global team working mainly a range of projects and additionally providing level 3 support for routing/switch, load balancer, firewall security, WAN optimization for both internal and external customers. The candidate must possess good technical knowledge to CCNP standard and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and escalate issues affectively.  Candidate must also have strong verbal and written communications skills as well as strong customer service skills. A hands on approach and willingness to work out of hours essential.

 

Role responsibility

Participate in group projects with global as well as regional team members

Join team in providing operational support, especially as escalation point in area of expertise

Participation in solution development and implementation

Perform network configuration changes in accordance with change management process

Perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery, creating preventative measures to deploy in the enterprise

Create and maintain network documentation as it relates to network configuration, network diagrams and processes.

Administer all pertinent company standards and procedures (i/e security and change control) as relevant to role

 

Experience

10+ years' experience in a global financial environment

Solid understanding of Cisco routing and Switching

Good knowledge of any of the following:  Bluecoat proxy, Checkpoint firewalls, Riverbed, F5 and QOS

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

Strong troubleshooting skills
