Job Description:

Scope of the project: take direction from SCDOT Office of Public Transit, understand the reporting requirements, understand the data requirements, determine the software available for local agencies to utilize, evaluate said software, ensure said software collects required information, ensure said software produces data and reporting output compatible with the office of public transit, produce documentation that will assist with creation of rfq and rfp postings by scdot. Produce final summary report for scdot of project.

Daily Duties / Responsibilities: work directly with the office of public transit to evaluate transit management software. Produce postings for rfq and rfp submissions to scdot. Evaluate potential software products. Determine which software products meets scdot opt reporting and data needs. Produce a statement for the local transit agencies listing those vendors and software products which are approved by scdot opt.

·         Significant project management experience working with state or local government(s).

·         Experience working in public transit agency or directly with public transit agencies.

·         Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector.

·         Knowledge of USDOT-defined Transit Core Suite of Technology and their use.

·         Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development and transit technologies.

·         Excellent external and internal communication skills.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

 Role             :   Security Analyst

Location      :    Columbia, SC

Duration      :   6 + months

 

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:

Implement all aspects of dis software solutions (i.e., rsa-archer, sophos, cyber-arc, secunia, dell one, etc.) To include creation and administration of databases, network devices, data discovery, rbac, active directory, gpo's, etc.

The position supports the implementation and ongoing maintenance efforts for all DIS technical control solutions (i.e., Full Disk Encryption, Third Part Patch Management, DLP, IDM, GRC, etc.); develops and manages security solutions (technical controls) for DSS' functional area (e.g., data, systems, network and/or Web) across the entire state; assists in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures (e.g., user log-on and authentication rules, security breach escalation procedures, security auditing procedures and use of firewalls and encryption routines); ensures the security posture of DSS assets and prepares status reports on security matters to develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures. This position is also responsible for the tracking and monitoring of software viruses; enforcing security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security profiles, reviewing security violation reports and investigating possible security exceptions, updates, and maintaining and documenting security controls. In addition, this position is involved in the evaluation of products and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness; provides direct support to DIS staff for security related issues; educates DIS about security policies; consults on security issues regarding user built/managed systems; represents the security needs of DSS by providing expertise and assistance in all DIS projects with regard to security issues. This position requires an extensive knowledge in networking, databases, systems and web operations. A more senior level position involved in developing enterprise security strategies, implementation and managing security projects, and the most complicated security issues.

·         Networking – Microsoft, Cisco environment

·         AD – Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Active Directory

·         GPO'S – Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Group Policy

·         Monitoring Logs And Alerts – Microsoft and Cisco Firewall, Routers, Switches and Server environment
