Role: IOT test automation engineer

Location: San Jose, CA

Duration: 6+ Months

 

Role & Responsibilities:
As a member of the IoT software infrastructure team, you will:
· Contribute to the architecture, design, implementation, and delivery of Client's IoT Software Platform.
· Play a key role in executing on the IoT Software Platform test automation strategy, driving quality and testability of products and services.
· Build and test highly horizontally scalable, distributed services that run in public, private and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
· Create functional and performance E2E tests leveraging opens source tools and enabled by continuous integration systems.
· Build and test large scale messaging infrastructure, data replication, auto-scaling and stream processing.
· Build enhancements to our data stream network to handle trillions of monthly transactions.
· Utilize contemporary development tools such as Git, continuous integration, automated testing frameworks, etc to perform your work.

Minimum Qualifications:
· BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
· Highly proficient in one or more of Python, Java, or C++. You are able to implement new patterns and refactor code without specifications in one or more of these languages.
· Hands on experience with Junit, TestNG, JMeter and Shell scripting.
· Solid understanding of networking concepts and conceptual understanding of protocols.
· Knowledge and experience with object-oriented design patterns.
· Knowledge of distributed computing

Desired Skills
· Experienced with implementing back-end services in large / "web scale" distributed systems.
· Knowledge and experience with micro-services design and implementation.
· Knowledge and experience with "Platform as a Service" environments or other application development platforms.
· Strong team player, with ability to actively contribute in teams with different skill and experience levels.
· Knowledge about buffering, stream processing, complex event processing, and storage solutions (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, , Mongo, etc)
· Experience with Cluster enabling solutions with services like Apache Mesos, Kubernetes
· Service discovery solutions like Consul.io, HA proxy etc
· Understanding on how to develop within a continuous integration environment leveraging tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo
· Experience leveraging contemporary deployment technologies like Docker, Puppet, etc
· QA Automation, performance testing, and/or development experience
  Worked with Performance monitoring tools for cloud is big plus
· Experience with configuring and running scalability tests.
