Job Title : Network Engineer - Core
DURATION :1Months+(with possible extensions)
START DATE : ASAP
LOCATION : AUSTIN, TX
JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:
Selected worker should have senior level implementation experience or similar transferable skill & experience that includes but is not limited to the following category of projects:
I. Operating System and Browser Upgrade Projects: migrating from one version of browser and O/S to a higher version for a moderate to large business entity.
II. Server Migration projects: where users will be moved away from non-windows servers onto windows servers.
III. Enterprise level managed hosting E-mail Migration projects: where company email is moved away from one system over to a managed or hosted email system.
IV. E-Discovery software projects: where e-discovery commercial off the shelf package software was implemented in a business.
Special Requirements: Any and all travel, per diem, parking, and/or living expenses shall be at the Worker's and/or Vendor's expense.
II. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
| Years | Skills/Experience |
| 7 | Must have a strong analytical, problem-identification and process analysis skills with the ability to envision a solution from requirements. For example, specifically in being able to provide technical support and/or technical infrastructure operational support regarding general network/infrastructure needs and operational activities. |
| 7 | Strong facilitation, technical problem resolution, consensus building, and negotiating skills. |
| 7 | Experience with the installation of networking technologies and supporting networks |
| 7 | Experience with assessing existing network configurations and makes recommendations based on product specifications. |
| 7 | Experience in providing technical support with the design of network solutions. For example, requires experience in the technical services and support field as well as experience in network administration (DHCP, DNS, routers, firewall, etc.) |
| 7 | Experience with configuring equipment and software to meet business needs, training others on the solution, and documenting the solution for ongoing support. Functions as part of a team on larger projects, or individually provides the services on support visits or smaller projects |
| 7 | Extensive understanding and skill in set up and configuration of various desktop browser technologies. For example, Microsoft installer (MSI) and Executable (EXE) application packing and repackaging |
| 7 | Extensive understanding and skill in set up and configuration of commercial off the shelf e-discovery technologies. For example develop customer application packages and rewraps of exiting vendor packages as necessary |
| 7 | Extensive understanding and skill in set up and configuration of email managed hosting systems |
| 7 | Extensive understanding and skill in set up and configuration of server migration. For example creating scripts (VB script, PowerShell, Batch) in various languages to carry out migration and connecting of users from one server to another across a network. |
| 7 | Solid experience with Desktop and Network management software tools. For example, use of Active Directory Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) tool to perform tasks to enable end users to connect to and access requisite servers files and data. |
| 5 | Works under limited supervision with major latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. |
| 5 | Experience creating, analyzing and troubleshooting scripting languages. |
| 5 | Experience in using Microsoft Visio and MS Office products or equivalent software tools. |
| 5 | Intermediate experience with development of Microsoft Access Databases. |
| Strong | Must have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing. |
Preferred:
| Years | Skills/Experience |
| 5 | Experience working in a State/Federal government environments (either Department of Aging and Disability Services or Health and Human Services Commission agencies preferred). |
| 5 | Ideal candidate would possess implementation experience working with project categories listed above in I. – IV. |
