Software Developer - Java Script - Minneapolis MN - 6 months

This position will work as a part of our development and third-level support team in our Plymouth office to provide third-level support on our browser-based test engine for administering student assessments. This test engine has been developed in JavaScript (any of the following: jQuery, Backbone, Hogan, Raphael, D3), HTML5, and Coffeescript. Responsibilities: i. Develop and provide third-level support for software that meets industry best practices using JavaScript ii. May also utilize any of the following: (jQuery, Backbone, Hogan, Raphael, D3), HTML5, and Coffeescript iii. Create and execute unit and functional tests iv. Identify changes in scope as they occur and notify appropriate team members v. Follow and support adopted software development methodologies vi. Experience troubleshooting and debugging complex systems vii. Demonstrate an understanding of business and technical requirements  viii. Stay current on application development processes and new tools / technologies ix. Work with SQA to complete testing activities and resolve issues x. Collaborate effectively with other development teams and business units and also has team leadership experience. Essential Qualifications i. 2+ years software development experience preferred ii. Proficiency in JavaScript Desired Qualifications i. Helpful to have HTML5 or Coffee Script (but not necessary) ii. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks iii. Knowledge of agile and test-driven development methodologies iv. Understanding and consistent use of design patterns v. Experience creating and consuming web services vi. Ability to utilize version control and bug tracking systems/software vii. Strong oral and written communication skills viii. Works successfully in a team environment
