Job Description:

Required Technical Skills:
•Expertise in developing C#/ASP.NET applications
•Expertise in building scalable enterprise web based applications
•Experience with database design and proficiency in MS SQL Server/Oracle
•Experience with Web Services, Active MQ, and REST ful APIs
•Troubleshooting issues in enterprise web based applications across web and database tiers
•Proficiency in LINUX, UNIX and Windows operating systems
•Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate technical and non-technical information verbally and in writing
•Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of professionals globally

Required Experience:
•Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience developing enterprise grade applications

Skills and experience in the following areas highly desirable:
•Knowledge of UI design particularly for scientific computation and visualization
•Java/Javascript/JQuery experience
•Knowledge of development on High Performance Computing systems (e.g. Sun Grid Engine)
•Knowledge of the drug discovery process.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The software engineer (backend) is responsible for coding and testing multi-user software applications. Responsibilities include reviewing technical requirements and developing code in C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, for a web based enterprise application. The application delivers scientific computation and visualization capabilities in a web browser interface with an emphasis on modeling and simulation using the NONMEM and R applications.

This is a contractor position within the Informatics IT organization located in Boston, Massachusetts.

The key activities for this position include:
•Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, and is easy to maintain.
•Perform aspects of the project Software Development Lifecycle, including design, implementation, installation, acceptance, and transition to support and operations teams.
•Perform and design testing protocols to ensure that the application is fully tested, including unit testing, and system testing.
•Work with business and infrastructure teams in the organization to ensure appropriate project requirements are met.
