Candidate must be Oracle DBA 12c or higher Certified Professional (proof of certification at time of submission is required).  

 

The need for a DBA is in support of all (non-production and production) environments. Work will include supporting, tuning, refresh and backup of the client's Oracle environment with emphasis on automation and scripting Oracle database processes.       The ideal candidate will provide services in operational assessments, systems analysis, design, integration, build, configure, test, implementation, maintenance, training and support for hardware and software for data and voice networks, server hosting and server infrastructure (e.g., Active Directory, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), storage appliances, database technologies, desktops, mobile computers, , data backup, restore, archive, disaster recovery. Hardware includes but not limited to: Data Center equipment including, uninterrupted power supplies, power distribution units, computer room air condition units, network cables and management systems. Network firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers, VPN appliances Server enclosures, servers Storage Area Network (SAN), Network Attached Servers (NAS) , Exa Data, Exa Logic, and ZFS appliances Personal computers, mobile computers, tablets, smart phones, printers, monitors, etc. Software includes but not limited to: Virtualization software – VMWare, KVM, etc. Cisco IOS, Cisco Call Manager, network access control Server Operating Systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, etc.), firmware, drivers, service packs, anti-virus, utilities and tools Active Directory, Ms Exchange, SCCM, SCOM, SCSM Remote Access -Citrix, VPN, Ms OWA Call Center Genesis Interactive Voice Response, workforce management, quality management Data backup, archive, disaster recovery Web and Application server software – Web Logic, IIS, Web sphere, Apache Tom Cat, etc. Third party vendor software - Adobe, IBM Cognos, Oracle OBIEE, Microsoft Share Point, Open source, etc. Middleware software – Oracle SOA suite, Internet connectivity, Firewall, Oracle Identity Management, etc. Relational Database Management software – Oracle 11.x, Oracle 12C, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Data Integrator, Golden Gate, Ms SQL Server, etc. Business Intelligence – Statistical Analysis System (SAS) software suite, ETL Tools, etc. Desktop productivity applications and tools – Windows OS, Macintosh OS, Microsoft Office Suite, tool, utility, etc. Desktop Security software - Anti-Virus/Spyware/Adware, Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GPO) Administration and Reporting management, etc.   The scope of this project encompasses the following tasks in Oracle 11g /12c; Red Hat Linux 5.x/6.x, Exadata and Windows environment for client environments:   Designing a database from a logical data model Creating the DDL to implement and modify a database using ERwin Sizing database tables and indexes Designing a physical database, capacity planning, ASM storage requirements Generating views Optimizing and tuning SQL statements using hints, explain plan, TKPROF, StatsPack, ADDM, AWR Writing PL/SQL objects including database triggers Executing customer created scripts, i.e. stored procedures, packages, data fixes, etc. Setting up database replication Setting up partitioned tables/indexes Installing Oracle software Creating Oracle instances Creating and recovering Oracle databases from a variety of sources: RMAN, "cold" and "hot" backups Monitoring Oracle databases using Oracle Grid Control and writing custom queries to retrieve information of Oracle Grid Control Creating/maintaining Unix Shell scripts Documenting procedures and best practices Responding to help desk tickets Following established change control procedures Setting up Oracle Data Guard or Standby databases Supporting Oracle RAC 11gR2 databases Supporting databases on Oracle Exadata and ZFS appliances Automation of ZFS cloned Oracle databases Automation of ZFS backups and restores for the Enterprise Oracle databases Migration of databases to VMWare platform
Requirements	Minimum Qualifications   Five (5) years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) on Oracle database version 11g or above. Three (3) years of expert experience writing SQL, PL/SQL, Unix Shell and Java scripts to support Oracle Databases and automation of user provisioning. Five (5) years of experience with Oracle 11g or higher: Using Tuning Pack, Diagnostics Pack, Change Management Pack and/or Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) . Writing PL/SQL objects. Supporting Oracle databases that utilize the RMAN backups to disk and tape. Supporting Oracle databases using replication/materialized views. Supporting Oracle databases using triggers. Using Oracle database auditing utilities Three (3) years of experience writing documentation (standards, best practices, procedures) Three (3) years of experience designing a database from a logical data model using ERWin and creating a physical database from a logical model One (1) year of experience writing scripts interfacing Oracle Exadata and Oracle ZFS storage appliance to support ZFS cloned Oracle database Five (5) years of experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) database version 11g or higher One (1) year experience writing custom queries from Oracle Enterprise Manager to report on database, host, environment and licensing statistics Oracle DBA 12c or higher Certified Professional (provide proof of certification). Must have four (4) years of experience with leading multi-disciplinary teams Must have the appropriate certifications with specific specialties that are applicable to the above listed hardware, software, and services. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience with one or more of the above listed hardware, software, and services, and at least four (4) years of said experience must have been at a high level both technically and in measure of responsibility.   Desired Qualifications   Experience working (ie database design, tuning, SDLC processes) in a dynamic government environment Experience with virtualizing Oracle databases. Experience as a DBA supporting government retirement database systems.
