- Senior QA Engineer
- Key team member in a software development group or pod that is responsible for the planning and implementing the testing approach for key functional and/or technology deliverables
- Work with the development team to implement an optimized testing approach, to plan for all types of testing required and for automated testing
- Work with the Release and build analysts to implement automated Build-Deploy-Test processes for all deliverables
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and significant experience developing and executing tests designing and conducting both functional and non-functional tests
- Experience with source code management, automating builds and automating deployments
- Responsible for working on multiple large enterprise and agile product development efforts
- QA Engineers must possess strong technical and soft skills, balancing the strengths of quality team members with software developers and enabling team members to conduct all tasks necessary to certify the Estream product solution
- Team members may not possess all skills listed below; however, a solid mix of these skills and experience listed are required:
Soft Skills
- Articulates clearly and precisely to technical and management audiences
- Presentation of test plans and results to an experienced technical audience; should be able to "white board and present solution architecture, program and data flows
- Passion for quality assurance; "breaking things, and seeing them "fixed
- Excellent and detailed written communication skills, including ability to communicate complex technical bugs in business terms
- Innovative mindset
- working with other peers to "build a better mousetrap with our technical solutions
- capable of developing smart test solutions with the right level of coverage utilizing efficient test methods
QA Skills & Experience
- 7+ years' experience conducting Quality Assurance testing required.
- 2+ years' experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Test Manager and Lab Manager required
- 2+ years' experience developing quality and productivity metrics for QA software projects, with a focus on agile methodologies
- Independently manages all QA and testing activities as assigned for test planning and execution, addressing blocks or issues affecting progress, working all defects associated with application under test to closure
- May oversee / evaluate test results conducted by non-QA team members
- Experience working with external team members to query, capture and address beta, alpha, demo and/or UAT feedback
- Hands on experience working with Project or Business Teams to review business requirements and use cases, providing feedback to improve product completeness, quality and testability
- Experience working in a Test-Driven Development environment, reviewing unit tests (created by developers) and gauging overall quality and code coverage
- Has experience working directly to automate build processes and with managing source code for releases
- Experience working in agile pods or Scrum teams, within the confines of iteration based ALM and SDLC practices, as well as deep experience in all facets of agile development.
- Experience designing and conducting end to end and/or component level performance, scalability and/or reliability tests
- Security and/or penetration testing
- Usability testing and or heuristic inspections
