Position: SQL Developer
Location: Philadelphia PA
Duration: 2 years
This is a SQL Developer position- NOT a BI position. They are looking for someone with T-SQL Scripting and Dynamic SQL experience.
Job description;
· Responsible for developing and maintaining database operations using Microsoft SQL Server platform and related technologies. Will provide
· excellence in database development to meet business needs and client deliverables, through maintenance and enhancement of SQL-based
· business processes and custom T-SQL scripting.
· Duties and responsibilities
· The qualified SQL Developer will be part of a team environment and will contribute to NRG's SQL Server stored procedure, data processing, and
· database development needs, the following are some of the duties and responsibilities for this position:
· Maintain and enhance the existing SQL Server Database infrastructure.
· Database Modeling and Normalization.
· Perform quality checks on reports and imports/exports.
· Evaluate urgency and root cause of production failures
· Resolve production bugs in business processes
· Develop and implement strategies for systems automation.
· Follow best practices implementing systems security.
· Create and maintain documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of database development experience; writing stored procedures and complex SQL queries.
Fast learner able to quickly learn complex business processes
Self learner
- Experience with SQL/T-SQL as well as Microsoft Server 2008 R2/2012
- Advanced querying skills
- Knowledge of the principles of database design, data acquisition and data processing analysis and design.
- Knowledge of stored procedure writing, query optimization, and indexes
- Detail oriented, self-motivated individual that can work independently on a variety of simultaneous projects.
- Flexible approach to working hours, occasional out of hours support required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to document new processes and procedures.
Nice to have: SQL RedGate Tools experience, SVN experience
