Job Description

 

Revise and build new website for Bureau of Workforce Information and Technical Support. Work will include consulting with BITS staff as they develop SQL and Business Objects Universes, security layer over current database in preparation for the development of Widgets, data display tools such as tableau, work with communications office in design and text of website pages.  •Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat Pro, Web Design, UI (User Interface) Design, HTML Data visualization software (e.g. Tableau)  •Proficiency in Adobe Dreamweaver, Microsoft SharePoint Designer, and/or other web design programs  •Ability to write in a variety of computer languages, including HTML or Java  •Coding skills for CSS, HTML, HTML5, PHP and Java  •Basic database administration skills for MySQL, Access and SQL  •Expert-level understanding of Flash and ActionScript for programming  •Familiarity with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) principles  •Excellent abilities for multimedia content development, and content management  •Proficiencies in Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, Safari and other major internet browsers required  •Experience with responsive web design sites, including mobile. Knowledge of section 508 principles and WCAG2 Accessibility guidelines a plus  •Excellent written and verbal communication skills  •Ability to convert concepts into user stories and prototypes to create great user experiences  •Skills in multi-layered collaboration (e.g. with LMI and BITS staff) in a highly-structured, fast-paced environment  •Knowledge of best practices in web standards
