Network/Focal Engineer
· Cisco Networking Proficient with a Cisco Wireless background:
· Experience with the following Cisco products and technologies:
· Cisco Routers - ISR, ASR, 7200
· Cisco Switches - Nexus, 6500, 3700's
· Cisco Wireless - Cisco Wireless Controllers and Access Points.
Focal Engineers are an onsite engineering resource providing proactive and reactive technical assistance for day to day network operations, building a strong understanding of Client's networking estate to aid in service delivery, whilst developing technical relationships with Client. Principle accountability includes:
· Perform first line troubleshooting to assist Client isolate technical faults as the senior technical level escalation contact for Client
· Perform identified preventative maintenance services where applicable
· Be responsible for verification and on-going management of high priority technical escalations between the GSC and Client in association with Service Delivery Management.
· Maintain and develop a knowledgebase for key technical information, to assist in the efficient diagnosis and resolution of Client faults.
· Co-ordinate communications with all stakeholders in the account team (Sales Director, Account Managers, Head Service Manager, SDM and GSC) for technical issues that could potentially impact Client's Network and provide awareness of high profile notifications supplied by Vendors.
· Assist with Client's day to day operational support and network administration.
· Provide awareness of high profile notifications (including but not limited to EOS and EOL, software changes, published software problems etc.) supplied by technology vendors
· Review End of Support reporting obtained from CNC; SNIA or others. Perform Risk Analysis and communicate finding to Client and Service Delivery.
· Engage with other regional Engineers dedicated to Client, obtaining awareness of high profile projects, faults and resolutions that could benefit Client within their region.
· Drive the End of Life process working closely with Client stakeholders and Service Delivery Managers providing Risk assessment and governance.
· Engage with Cisco NOS where present ensuring awareness of high profile faults and current progress undertaken by NOS.
