BI Programmer- Sr Needed (1position)
The Data Management Services (DMS) group within IT needs to fill a 6 month RTH BI Programmer - Sr position. The candidate with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities will need to start as soon as possible
Work Summary
The candidate filling this BI Programmer - Senior position will be responsible for recommending and implementing Business Intelligence solutions. The candidate must have strong business analysis skills and must be able to communicate well with the business. The candidate should be able to interact with the business and solve business problems. They should recommend solutions, develop solutions, test solutions, gain acceptance for solutions using the Microsoft BI Platform. The candidate will design and deploy BI scorecards, dashboards, multi-dimensional Cubes and adhoc reporting. The candidate should have some technical Microsoft BI skills, Microsoft BI architecture/infrastructure skills, and project management/coordination skills.
Responsibilities
· The ideal candidate will be responsible for:
· Must have strong Business Intelligence Analysis skills. Must be able to communicate with the business and provide solutions to business problems.
· Experience in Microsoft SSIS/SSRS/SSAS
· Experience in Excel 2010 and Power Pivot tools.
· Experience in Oracle and SQL Server database knowledge.
· Experience to analyze customer data request and use Oracle SQL or T-SQL to extract the data using temporary tables for complex data gathering.
· Able to work independently with excellent organizational and communication skills
· Will Plan/drive Business Intelligence project deliverables for the entire ETS organization using Microsoft BI tools
· Consult with ETS business community to gather requirements for specific BI scorecard, dashboard and reporting needs. Write detailed specification to be used in developing reports and processes.
· Design and develop scorecards, dashboards and multi-dimension data cubes using Microsoft BI tools. Consult with end users to refine/enhance existing BI applications
· Participate in the design and development of enterprise-wide data repositories. Make recommendation to improve the efficiency and functionality of the database, Microsoft BI environment and associated processes.
· Develop and deliver reports on an adhoc basis using Microsoft BI tools. Develop and execute a verification and security strategy to ensure the accuracy of the data distributed in the reports.
· Assist management in attaining problem resolutions, working with multiple BI partner groups and multiple levels of staff and management.
· Follow l IT policies and procedures.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· 3-5 years experience Business Intelligence Analysis skills
· 3 years experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence environment using SSIS/SSRS/SSAS
· 3 years with developing and maintaining Olap Analysis Services Cubes
· Hands on experience with the Windows platform
· Hands on experience with PL SQL using Oracle 10 and 11.
· Hands on experience with T-SQL.
· Experienced with Data Warehouse ETL process
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Must be able to work independently and effectively in a team environment
Education
The candidate should a Bachelors degree or Masters in Computer Science or 8-10 years of experience in IT or related field from which an equivalent combination of education and experience, comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
