Job Title: SQL Server DBA Migration Consultant-USC-Locals Only

 

Location: Wilton, CT

 
Duration: 4-6+ months

 

Description:

Project/Role or BD Task Description and Special Notes. . .
Database upgrade (SQL 2005 to SQL 2008) project. The delivery phase should last until the end of the year and successful delivery should lead to a client partnership. The client is a hedge fund with very heavy security on everything. The heavy security makes this project much more interesting than a traditional upgrade effort. A great deal of the database administration tasks are completed through the use of a homegrown custom application layer written on top of SQL 2005.

• Operational DBA / Production DBA
• Heavy Security 
• HADR concepts
• Log Shipping
• Clustering
• Mirroring
• Server upgrades migrations
• Networks
• Performance tuning

US Citizen preferred, Financial Services background preferred, local preferred.
