Job Description:-
• Looking for a Database Administrator who can perform various database activities, which include monitoring, tuning, capacity, troubleshooting, and consulting
• We are an innovative product team offering hardware and software solutions for various industries including POS.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the designing, implementing, and supporting standard databases (MySQL) based on business requirements. Help with the identification, definition, and implementation of database backup/recovery, versioning and security strategies. As a DBA, you will work across the cloud solutions in close collaboration with other software developers on the team to build and shape our cloud solutions.
Education:
• 4+ years experience performing database administration functions. Need to understand and have experience on full life cycle of managing MySQL databases.
• Hands on experience with MySQL high availability technologies.
Specific Professional Skills/Competencies:
• Translate a logical data model or user specifications into a physical design
• Ensure detailed physical design of data structures and database compiles with standards, guidelines, procedures, and processes.
• Lead efforts to guide team to best practices for database usage, high availability and business continuity.
• Create physical database structures based on physical design for development, test, and production environments.
• Install configure, and maintain DBMS product software on database and application servers
• Assist in the consultation to application development teams on DBMS product technical issues and techniques
• Implement monitoring procedures to maximize availability and performance of the database, while meeting defined SLA's. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database problems
• Communicate the required downtime with the application development teams and systems engineers to implement approved changes
• Keep abreast of industry and technology trends
Good to Have Skills:
• Experience with Big Data analytics (Cassandra, Hadoop, MongoDB, MapReduce)
