Responsibilities:
Develop an Android mobile app using the Material Design specification. This developer will take a pre-existing visual design, and produce an end-to-end implementation of this UI as well as a responsive implementation that communicates with a REST API backend service that we have built. The developer's responsibilities include:
§ A complete implementation of the user interface conforming to Material Design. This implementation will be in code written in XML and Java for Android 5.0.
§ A complete Android standalone app, designed to be highly responsive. The application will make aggressive use of caching and prefetching, and include support for offline operation. The application will include appropriate telemetry for understanding mobile application usage in the wild.
§ Publish the Android standalone app to Android app stores.
Requirements:
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science.
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experience publishing at least one Android app.
- Solid understanding of the mobile app development life cycle.
- Experience with Android SDK.
- Experience with UI development. Experience with Android 5.0 Material design is a plus.
- Experience working with web services.
