- It will be a mix of analysis and programming. To clarify, this about analysis of legacy code and not "business analysis". The actual ratio of pure analysis to pure coding will change over time and will be task dependent.
What type of application will they be working on? i.e. Custom apps? - The legacy code is all custom and the work will require a strong knowledge of C on the Unix/Linux platform. Experience with Oracle Pro*C and/or a similar ESQL/C language is desired.
What are the "deal breaker" skills that they must have for this role? i.e. Java programming, C programming ? - C is a must. Unix is a must. Javascript is a nice-to-have. Java is also a nice-to-have, specifically, experience with Java Spring.
C programmers are not as easy to come-by, as C#/.NET. Just wanted to double check that this person must be a C programmer and wasn't sure if this is a big part of their job? - I'd consider C++ folks if their experience is in Unix, but this is not a Microsoft platform, so C#/ .NET is not a match at all.
