Job Description

Application Migration Technical Architect/Hands-on Engineer Requirements

The project scope are legacy, mainly thick-client applications.  The project methodology is as follows:

-          Discovery of application components

-          Discovery of network flows between application components and other systems on the network

-          Analysis of network traffic capture reports to remove noise and highlight real application flows

-          Creation of detailed network diagrams and validating them with application owners, mapping communications to application processes

-          Review of application security frameworks: database, file share, user interface security, user authentication and authorization, use of roles and profiles, etc.

-          Creation of detailed application migration plans based on several reference migration strategies

-          Support for application owners and enterprise IT support teams during migrations

 

We are looking for a well-rounded engineer who has been directly exposed to various networking, security, operating system, database, and business application technologies.

The architect/engineer will have a solid understanding of:

-          TCP/IP, client-to-server communications, session- and application-layer protocols

-          Firewalls and ACLs

-          Packet capture and inspection

-          Operating System security fundamentals (Windows or Linux)

-          Application multi-tier architecture (preferred)

-          Business application integration/deployment (preferred)

 

The architect/engineer will be:

-          Detail-oriented, yet focused on tasks completion and meeting deadlines

-          Capable of leading team effort on technical side

-          Possess strong verbal and written communication skills

-          Be fluent with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Visio
