Role: Jr. Performance Tester

Location: St. Louis.MO

Duration: 12+ months

 

Required Skills:

 

Rate : $40-45/hr

 

Role

• Candidate will lead development teams in implementing performance optimizations during planning and early design phases
• Architect and build the next generation performance tools to help the performance team be more efficient at performance engineering
• Keep the performance team abreast of latest industry trends and advancements that can benefit the team
• Understand platform products and usage workflows to construct efficient performance tests
• Analyze performance results to identify bottlenecks and optimizations
• Construct complex workloads and data shapes to expose potential bottlenecks
• Innovate solutions to improve performance engineering effectiveness
• Review developer code and technical applications to tune for optimal performance
• Look for ways to improve user experience as well as system scalability
• Conduct technical presentations to educate teams on how to improve performance
• Analyze metrics and trends to highlight performance opportunities for improvements
• Prior experience installing, configuring and using Performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace


All About You

·         Seeking candidates with Java and SQL performance tuning experience that includes garbage collection, heap management, JVM configuration, explain plan, query optimization, optimizer hints, etc.

·         Strong experience identifying bottlenecks across various layers of web application stacks (client, network, java containers, oracle backend) and innovate solutions to improve performance engineering effectiveness

·         Excellent skills in summarizing large amount of metrics into meaningful graphs and reports.

·         Demonstrated ability to identify potential limitations in software architectures

·         Proven experience partnering with Architects, Developers, Systems Engineers and Database

·         Administrators to collaboratively tune systems inclusive of reviewing developer code and technical applications to tune for optimal performance

·         Proven experience dissecting large amounts of data and identify potential issues then disseminate the information to teammates to allow them to learn and grow in performance engineering

DESIRED SKILLS

·         Familiar with Application servers (e,g JBoss)

·         Familiar with Oracle technologies (e.g. RAC, Grid, OPS, database)

·         Familiar with Network packet sniffers (e.g. TcpDump, Network Monitor)

·         Familiar with Dyantrace; Java Tuning and Garbage Collection
