Business Analyst with GDS (global distribution system) OR Travel Domain experience

Responsible for working with the business to determine and document business needs and requirements on large projects and programs.
Works with architects to identify technical solutions and business process improvements that are in line with IT and business strategy.
Works with development resources to ensure the proposed design meets business requirements and works with Quality Assurance Managers (where applicable) to coordinate testing activities. Provides regular updates to assigned Program/Project Management resources.
•Strong Travel Domain Expertise with Travel Projects in multi-GDS environment (Sabre, Amadeus, Apollo, Galileo) is a must
•Understanding of XML Schema and APIs is required
•Typically holds a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field (or has equivalent work experience).
•May be a recognized industry expert in functional domain, for example, credit authorizations.
•Typically possesses prior relevant professional work experience in business requirements and analysis, technical architecture development and delivery, and problem identification and resolution, with exposure to data, technical and solution architectures.
•Works with business partners within one business function to align technical solutions with business strategies and/or may support several moderately complex business processes.
•May work on one large complex initiative or on multiple moderately complex projects.
•Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of at least one business area and informed knowledge of multiple business areas.
•Acts as a liaison between the business and the delivery teams to provide technical solution(s) to meet business requirements.
•Works with architects and/or Platform Development Managers to identify technical solutions and business process improvements which are in line with the strategic direction.
•Works with the development team to ensure the proposed design meets business requirements and works with Quality Assurance Managers (if available) to coordinate system and user testing activity.
•May act as a Platform Development Manager for smaller/less complex projects, where a Platform Development Manager is not available.
•Leads the analysis of business requirements by utilizing knowledge of one or more business areas and platforms/applications for the portfolio supported.
•Utilizes modeling techniques (for example, business process, data, event), to discover and clarify the functional and data requirements.
•Works with business and delivery teams to develop and evaluate business objectives and supporting business case.
•Works with the business to understand and determine system implications in terms of the platform(s)/application(s) and business processes.
•Documents project scope including conceptual design, business and quality requirements.
•Works with development teams to ensure that proposed design meets business requirements and enterprise quality standards.
•Reviews development estimates from development teams and actively seeks clarification/verification as appropriate.
•Works closely with Project Management, providing inputs during project planning (resource requirements, development estimates, etc.) and throughout the development life cycle to ensure business objectives are met.
•Plans and defines testing approach (working with Testing & Quality Assurance resources, if available), providing advice on prioritization of testing activity in support of identified risks in project schedules or test scenarios.
•Proactively anticipates any project risks and issues and ensures adequate mitigation efforts are put in place to ensure overall delivery is not compromised.
•Provides consultancy to business users in preparing test scenarios/cases and undertakes reviews of test plans to ensure quality delivery.
•Assists in implementation planning and attends Post Implementation Reviews to ensure lessons learned are carried forward in subsequent development activities.
