Title: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Length of Contract: 12 Months
Rate: Open

The Security Engineer plays a leadership role in Information Security for the company. The primary responsibility is to support the vulnerability management program within the Information Security Group. The SE will work with various stakeholders to define and implement vulnerability process, establish vulnerability schedules, work with various teams on reviewing reports and establishing timelines for remediation of found vulnerabilities.
Job Responsibilities:
The role will be part of the Information Security team responsible for delivering security services across the company globally.
This position will focus on Information Security vulnerability services and technologies.
Areas of responsibility include:
• Keep informed on and make technical recommendations on new vulnerabilities found in the environment
• Develop business cases and presentations on system vulnerabilities and risks they represent
• Define requirements, perform product evaluations and make recommendations on vulnerability tools and technologies
• Evaluate solutions and service providers for adherence to the company's Information Security policies and standards
• Advise project teams and application owners on information security controls
• Maintain and build relationships with the Information Security Client teams with a focus on ensuring inclusion of information security requirements and strategy on projects and operations
• Provide guidance to the staff and contract team supporting Security Operations and Risk Management activities on security processes, strategies and approaches
Requirements:
• 8+ years experience supporting security-related services
• At least 5 years as a senior security engineer supporting a multinational Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology organization (not Healthcare)
• 1 or more of the following certifications: CISSP, GPEN, GWAPT
• Strong experience with network vulnerability assessment tool Qualys
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Information Security standards and policies
• Demonstrated success in leading multi-functional initiatives without formal authority
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills
• Effective working with virtual teams
• Experience with regulated systems (GxP, SOX) in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
• Experience working with technical documentation as it relates to the delivery of information security services in a regulated environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Successful management of multiple priorities
• Self-starter with a high degree of initiative
• Highly motivated and able to work effectively under minimal supervision.
• Team-oriented, placing priority on the successful completion of team goals
