Description:
The Customer Innovation team within Client IT Global Solutions, plays an important leadership role in identifying and applying new technologies to drive and support Client business. The Customer Innovation team explores, discovers, and investigates innovative technologies to help deliver effective and efficient products, services, and technology based solutions to complex business problems. Successful innovation using technology requires expert project management, research and development, collaboration, business planning and implementation. The Innovation Project Manager / Business Analyst will effectively support the technology innovation process across all phases of innovation including:
• Research and Discovery
• Business Development
• IT Project Management
The ideal candidate will be strong in both project management and business analyst expertise and will able to work creatively within the Research, Business Development, and IT processes to drive projects through to completion.
Qualifications / Experience:
• Eight years of IT project management and business analyst experience (PMI certification a plus)
• Demonstrated proficiency in project management, including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and reporting.
• Familiarity with managing projects within a life sciences environment (awareness of cGMP regulations – 21 CFR 820, 21 CFR Part 11 a plus)
• Solid understanding / familiarity with taking an idea / concept through a business development process including: assessment and evaluation, vetting through various functional experts, and development of a business plan.
• Experienced in leading teams / workgroups in pursuit of new technology initiatives. Knowing how to effectively use indirect authority to influence team members to complete tasks.
• Experienced working across all vertical levels within a Corporate environment – communicating with upper management as well as individual contributors.
• Team Player committed to quality; motivated self-starter; detail and results oriented
• Well organized, reliable, technically proficient with excellent oral / written communication skills
• Critical, analytical thinker and problem solver
• Willingness to wear many hats and perform tasks as needed to drive results.
Responsibilities:
• Manage all IT aspects of Technology Innovations projects with a customer oriented and creative mindset. Although a formal project methodology will be embraced, look for opportunities to streamline and expedite completion of tasks to ensure innovative opportunities are quickly executed and delivered.
• Provide overall Project leadership and planning for the implementation of Technology Innovation projects.
• Perform Business Analyst work to ensure timelines are met. Meet with Business Leaders / Functional representatives and help translate functional requirements into technical specifications for IT Development resources.
• Resolve or assist in the resolution of conflicts within and between projects or functional areas;
• Develop methods to monitor project or area progress; and provide corrective supervision if necessary. Provide regular status updates to sponsors, management, and constituents.
• Interact regularly with existing or potential clients / sponsors to determine their needs and to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Advocate on behalf of sponsors and represent sponsors needs as appropriate.
• Work cross-functionally and vertically to solve problems and implement changes.
Recruit Points:
• 5 Minimum years of experience required
• Bachelor's degree required
• Specific hardware/software experience required:
1. Supply Chain systems, integration with ERP, Systems used in the distribution of medical devices – these would be applicable general categories
• Certification or training that is required/desired in a candidate:
1. Project Management Certification is always good to see
• Top 3 qualifications looking for in a candidate:
1. Exceptional communication skills
2. Structured / well organized
3. Willingness and proven successful experience working at both tactical BA level and strategic PM level
• Day in the life/project information of the contractor's day to day duties:
1. Most likely will be working on multiple projects.
2. A typical day might involve running a project status meeting on Project #1, meeting with business reps on Project #2, and creating a process map for a new proposed process on Project #3
• Measurable performance objectives expected when this contractor begins work (on project):
1. Will need to see results in terms of follow up on open action items – whether owned by this person or others on the project.
2. Will need to have this person represent the HM in project meetings - need this person to be able to work independently when needed
