Position: Systems Administrator (Web Services)

Location: San Francisco, CA

Duration: 12+ months

 

Requirements:

• 2+ years support customer facing web servers and web sites in production environment
• In-depth working knowledge and experience with Web services on Windows (IIS) and/or Linux (Apache, Tomcat)
• Degree in Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent experience
• Successful experience in Windows and Linux Systems Administration and troubleshooting
• In-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
• In-depth working knowledge and experience with Web services on Windows (IIS) and/or Linux (Apache, Tomcat)
• Willingness to participate in 7/24 on-call rotation to respond to and resolve application issues to ensure SaaS applications are online
• Basic knowledge of networking and security concepts
• Good organizational skills and the ability the track and prioritize several tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience writing scripts with common language (example: Ruby, Perl, VBS)
• Experience with cloud environments like AWS
• Understanding and experience with code deployment
• Excellent problem solving skills, along with the ability to work independently, as well as part of a cross-functional global team
• Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors
• Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems
• Understanding of ITIL "best practices"
• Windows and Linux certifications
• Web development experience (Java, .net)
• Basic working knowledge of Vmware ESX server and virtualized environments
• Knowledge of Databases, such as MongoDB, MS SQL Server and MySQL
• Experience with code deployment and configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, MS Build, WinRM, custom scripts, Ant)
• Experience with source code repositories (Git, Perforce, SourceSafe
