Job Title: Web Developer
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Duration: Contract or Contract to Hire or Full Time
Rate: Open
Responsibilities:
Primarily responsible for ensuring 24x7 site and application performance and uptime. Responsible for the setup and support of web related software infrastructure and various change management environments. Liaison with the Infrastructure, Security and Web development teams to ensure reliable, fast and secure Web applications.
- Ensure 24x7 uptime of sites and applications via direct support and directing of offshore resources.
- Ensure performance of sites via external monitoring and reporting tools, infrastructure reporting, and stress testing related activities.
- Responsible for management and monitoring of internal and external monitoring systems.
- Liaison with Infrastructure to assure capacity of infrastructure hardware and software to support expected traffic levels.
- Liaison with Web development team for project planning and implementation as well as production troubleshooting.
- Liaison to DBA's for SQL Server Administration.
- Manage/support 3rd party relationships, e.g. content delivery network, DNS, SSL Certificates.
- Coordination and implementation of production releases.
- Developing and supporting release deployment processes.
- Manage/support various environments, including dev/test/staging/prod.
- Provide leadership to other team members.
- Provide direction to overall architecture to meet scalability requirements.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Web development and Web administration.
- Experience with internet hosting infrastructure, including related hardware, software, and protocols.
- Experience with uptime monitoring and web page load time performance optimization.
- Experience with SQL Server, IIS, .Net Framework, and Web Systems Architecture.
- Experience with DNS administration.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent infrastructure projects.
- Experience with CMS Systems (Teamsite)
- Knowledge of internet hardware/software security standards and practices.
- Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle.
- Knowledge of HTML coding (including basic knowledge of JavaScript and Style Sheets)
- Experience with Rackspace Cloud or AWS hosting, a plus.

- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Job Difficulty:
The Web Administrator is responsible for the operational support of the Web infrastructure. The role requires coordinating response to 24x7 monitoring. It requires close liaison with the Web development team to plan and rollout projects that require Web infrastructure planning, including capacity planning, SSL certificates, deployment processes and release management. The supported Websites are high traffic sites. Web page response time and uptime is critical.
Accountability:
This position is responsible for ensuring Website uptime and therefor preventing revenue loss from downtime. In addition, the Web Administrator must ensure minimum production hosting costs by efficiently managing the Web hosting infrastructure.
Supervision:
The Lead Web Operations Engineer will lead a small team of Web Operations Engineer resources.
