Analyst- Institutional Strategy & Analysis (Business Analyst with strong SQL skills, able to build reports and do some coding)
Location: Jersey City, NJ (Face to Face Required)
Duration: 6 + Months
Rate: $50/hr
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Partner with business line managers, functional areas, and other members of the Institutional Strategy & Operations team to provide business insights
Develop and perform analysis leveraging TD Ameritrade's internal data sources to address key business needs and drive business growth
Establish and execute processes for updating recurring business reporting packages
Identify trends and outliers embedded in business results and recommend follow-up actions, executing as needed
Identify and report on new relevant data metrics to assess business performance
Assist with optimization of business analytics by identifying process or report redundancies and recommending actions for efficiency improvement
Execute ad hoc analyses and research of Institutional programs and businesses
Support development of strategic priorities and execution of internal consulting projects
Administer the compensation process for sales groups
Liaise with finance to assess operating results
Create and update presentation materials for senior management meetings
Other projects and assignments as assigned
Required Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work with business partners
Capacity to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously
Experience with Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of the financial services industry
Advanced SQL coding and report building, (not just SQL experience for validation which is often very simple queries).
Experience with Business Objects universe design and development a plus.
Required:
1-3 years business experience preferred, preferably within management consulting or in business analytics
Preferred Skills:
Technical knowledge of SQL preferred
Interest in sales and service organizations preferred (e.g. best practices, key competitors)
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline or other evidence of quantitative/numerical aptitude
In addition to the requirement of advanced SQL coding and report building, not just SQL experience for validation which is often very simple queries.
They have asked that we add the following to the skill sets required: Experience with Business Objects universe design and development a plus.
