Existing data warehouse consists of a SQL Server database and a series of SSAS OLAP cubes. These provide a base for a firm wide reporting system. Most of the reporting is done against the cubes with heavy use of MDX calculated measures. The reports are used in various areas of the business from risk management to investor relations.

 

The prospective hire will be working on improvements to existing system as well as the next generation data warehouse, which will involve redesign of both underlying data models and the cubes that rely on them. This project provides an opportunity to work closely with the business side and to use the latest technology while solving challenging problems.

Requirements:

- 5 - 7 years of relevant experience

- Expert knowledge of SQL, preferably on Microsoft SQL Server platform.  

- Experience working with data warehouses. Understanding of dimensional models, slowly - changing dimensions, semi-additive and non-additive measures.

- Experience using SSAS and MDX a big plus.

- Experience with tabular data modeling is a plus

- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) a plus.

- Understanding of complex financial instruments and hedge fund trading strategies a big plus.

- Strong work ethic and communication skills.
