Job Title: Sr Performance Test Engineer with LoadRunner
Location: Wilmington, DE
Duration: 6-12 Months
Only GC, Citizen or EAD
Roles and Responsibilities: As a performance engineer, this person will work closely with project managers, architects, DBAs and application developers to gather requirements for testing, develop estimates for testing execution, design test approaches and manage the end-to-end life cycle of technology sponsored projects.
This person will be responsible for doing pre-production performance testing/tuning of integrated Consumer Data Warehouse applications. Every major code or infrastructure changes have to be certified by performance team under production like workload before promoting it to production.
The performance team uses high-end integrated production like infrastructure testing environment for following use cases:
• Certify application code Releases and note any performance impacts under production like workloads.
• Verify impact of any Infrastructure changes and under production like workloads.
• Validate fail-over/recovery scenario and measure any impact to response times/interruption during execution of these scenario's
• Find processing ceilings to prepare organization for high volume card transaction days (like Black Friday, holiday season) or mergers.
• Find opportunities to make application/infrastructure more efficient
• Pinpoint the bottlenecks, memory leaks ahead of time to help increase application performance.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience on end-to-end application development life cycle
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in writing, re-writing and dissecting complex SQL queries using multiple join conditions, case statements, arithmetic, aggregate functions and query tuning/optimization techniques
• 5+ years of experience in performance tuning
• 3+ years of experience using one/more scalable (MPP) relational databases such as Teradata for advanced analytics solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, self-motivated, quick learner and team player
• Active listening skills and assertiveness in negotiating the requirements based on project needs.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and multi-task Preferred Skills:
• Experience with Teradata utilities like BTEQ, FASTLOAD, MLOAD, TPUMP, FASTEXPORT and Query manager
• Experience with testing tools like LoadRunner, Performance Center
• Experience with any monitoring tools like Sitescope, Wily Introscope
