Data Modeler Job type: Contractor Primary purpose of this position The Information Architect / Data Modeler is responsible for creating and maintaining the data model for data warehouse / data marts. The Information Architect has a high degree of expertise in data modeling and integration in supporting Analytical implementations with good exposure to data architecture. The Information Architect plays a lead role in data initiatives such as data modeling, data migration, and data stewardship initiation. Required Qualifications College degree and 6+ years of related work experience
? BS or BA degree in computer science or related field
? 3-6 years experience in data modeling for data warehouses, data marts
? 3-6 years experience in data integration administration and development
? Knowledge of relational database technology, modeling and design tools, and data integration technology and tools. Required knowledge and skills
? Very strong relational and dimensional data modeling skills
? Very strong experience with data modeling tools such as ERwin
? Very strong experience in data warehouse and data marts data architecture design
? Very strong data analysis skills
? Very strong SQL skills
? Very strong experience in performance (SQL) tuning
? Strong data integration skills, including ETL
? Good understanding of BI tools such as Spotfire, Qlik and design / model needed to support Analytical need
? Ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
? Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
? Team player
? Excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal, and written
? Action and results oriented
? Excellent organization and time management skills
? Ability to work effectively independently and in small teams
? Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
? Excellent facilitation, negotiation and consensus-building skills
? Possesses a high degree of initiative to identify potential problems and risks and bring them to the attention of management
? Ability to multi-task Preferred knowledge and skills 5+ years of experience in Asset Management domain 5+ years of experience in database design and administration 4+ years of experience in Informatica ETL development 2+ years of experience in BI tools such as Spotfire, Qlik 2+ years of experience with big data would be a plus
