Requirement:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Data Management Applications Teams in the design, development, and management of reporting and database applications used across the enterprise and by external clients
- Act as overall lead on OptumRx Data Management development projects working effectively with business and IT project leadership
- Provide the technical oversight and overall direction for managing large initiatives within the organization.
- Provide overall direction and guidance to BI and ETL Architecture development for the OptumRx Data Marts
- Interact with the team to facilitate development, provide status reports, and perform software migration activities
- Ensure the effective and high quality execution of all phases of the project lifecycle
- Lead the prioritization and assessment of projects across business areas within OptumRx and other Health Care Company segments
- Act as lead IT representative in working with Health Care Company initiatives impacting or supported by the Data Warehouse
- Work effectively with peers, onshore as well as offshore team members and other departments to accomplish company and departmental objectives
- Ensure integrity and availability of DBMS and reporting applications per service level agreements
- Act as area applications liaison with third party vendors
- Set direction for new product evaluation and release schedules
- Prepare detailed and high-level database development, team and operational status reports for senior management
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years IT experience in analysis, architecture, development, and implementation of business applications
- 5 or more years experience in analyzing, designing, developing, deploying and supporting business intelligence and reporting applications, preferably using MicroStrategy
- 5 or more years experience with program managing multiple large initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience designing, developing, deploying and supporting ETL processes, preferably using Informatica Power Center
- Experience with Big Data, Netezza and Hadoop a plus
- Strong skills in communications, leadership, presentations to senior management, problem-solving, project management, team development and organization
- Experience in leading technical teams - managing the work of systems analysts, reporting, ETL and database application analysts and developers
- Experience with managing a department budget.
- Experience with facilitating technical design meetings and decisions
- Experience with technology selection process and vendor management
- Strong SQL experience and knowledge of relational databases
- Working knowledge of Data Warehouse Development Lifecycle methodologies - well-versed in one or more Agile development methodologies
- Experience with data flow and process modeling, analyzing business requirements and translating to written architectural, design, and functional specifications
- Exceptional analytical problem-solving and documentation skills
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with programmers and other IT staff, business users and non-IT functional areas
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, including strong interviewing and interpretive skills, as well as the ability to effectively present, negotiate, influence, and build consensus
- Display a high degree of motivation and the ability to work independently
- Strong MS office skills required
- Extremely organized with strong sense of priority, urgency and commitment to deadlines
- Broad knowledge of diverse database technologies, tools and alternatives
- Bachelor degree in computer science or related technical field
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Healthcare IT experience preferred
- Understanding of Managed care, Medicare medical and/or drug coverage plans preferred
- Candidates must be local to the Santa Ana, CA offices to work on site daily
