Java Developer with Strong C Exp.

Position: Java Developer with Strong C Exp.
Location: Broadway, NY

Duration: 6-12 months

 

Qualifications / Requirements
 Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent required. (MS desired)
 9-10+ years' software development experience.
 experience in enterprise-class Java design and development, spring and hibernate (preferred), web application servers like Tomcat
 Strong working knowledge XML based tools like XSLT, XPath, parsing and related XML processing tools. Experience with large volume XML content processing is a plus
 3+ years experience in UNIX shells, perl/DBD/DBI, Oracle SQL/stored procedures
 Strong working knowledge with C (experience with Pro*C compiling on LINUX and Oracle 11 is a major plus)
 Strong working experience with Configuration/Change Management systems, build and deployment, version control (TFS a plus)
 Strong analytical and problem solving skills enabling comprehension of complex business and product issues
 Experience in formal software development lifecycle
 Strong organization skills
 Proven ability to meet deadlines, goals and objectives within time line
 Strong verbal and written communication skills.
 Flexible, proactive, quick learner, and possess strong team attitude
 Experience in analysis and design, ability to write technical documentation, comprehensive testing.
 Working experience with Content Management Systems a plus
 
*** Note: Temps will be working on Checkpoint Publishing System focusing on replatform effort for the Checkpoint Publishing application. Temps will be working on Moving from Solaris and Oracle 10 TO Oracle Linux and Oracle 11. Candidates submitted must have Oracle SQL and some knowledge of XML/XSLT *please note that the manager is seeking two types of candidates for this role: 1. One of these must be strong in Java 2. The second must be strong on UNIX Shell scripting and C. Not only programming C; if they also have experience with compilation on Linux this would be a huge plus. **If a candidate is strong in Java and C this would be good.
