Position      :    Desktop Engineer

Location      :    Raleigh, NC

Duration     :    6 months Contract


Opportunity with the client in Raleigh, NC for a Tier 1 / 2 Technician

Staff will perform first-line remote and onsite desktop computing support for approximately 3500 Windows desktop computer users, augmenting existing support staff whose duties will shift in support of an ongoing statewide client computing project.

The selected candidate will work in the role as a Tier 1/2 technician who will perform the following job duties:
 

·         Basic PC Management

·         Installation

·         Configuration

·         Software Installation

·         Hardware & Software Upgrades

·         PC troubleshooting & Repair (Software & Hardware)

·         Security & Virus Troubleshooting & Repair

·         User/Account Management

·         Policy Management

Candidates will also be required to:
 

·         Read and understand potentially complex technical documentation requiring college-level reading capabilities

·         Update and manage incident, service request and asset records in the Remedy Service Desk application

Required:
 

·         Minimum of (1) year experience maintaining and troubleshooting Windows 7 and Windows XP in an Active Directory environment

·         Minimum of (1) year experience maintaining and supporting standard PCs

Preferred:
 

·         Demonstrated Ability to perform basic user and PC administration in an Active Directory environment (e.g. add/remove users to/from groups, join PC's to domain)

·         Experience deploying PC images and applications via Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager

·         A+ Certification

·         Experience maintaining and troubleshooting Apple Mac, iPad and Android tablet devices is desirable

·         Experience with service management ticketing systems
