Position: C/C++ developer with Hadoop
Duration: 6 months
Location: Bedminster, NJ
 
Manager is looking for a consultant who can deliver an automated test harness in particular and support integration in general for a data streaming tool which we are open sourcing.
Deliverables include:
1.) Build fully automated test harness and test set for data streaming tool
2.) Provide bug fixes/improvements to data streaming tool as directed
3.) Integrate data stream tool with other open source tools in particular Hadoop 2.x

Skills required:
- Strong and proven C and C++ skills. The streaming tool is written in C and C++ and parts of the test harness have to interface that way for unit testing of components.
- Skills in Java. Required to integrate streaming tool with other open source tools in the Hadoop 2.x eco system. There are additional teams working on this component so the main responsibility of this contractor is to represent the streaming tools APIs towards those teams.
- Unix skills. Development environment is Linux possibly MacOSX.
- Knowledge of how to unit test complex realtime multi process systems.
- Basic SQL. Streaming tool is programed in a subset of SQL.
